115/4000 press brake for elevator components

In the elevator and lifting systems sector, bending quality is not just a matter of aesthetics, but a functional requirement. Consistent geometries, tight tolerances, and absolute repeatability are key factors in ensuring safety, reliability, and seamless integration of components into the final product.

It is in this context that the project developed for Wittur Elevator Components S.A.U., one of the leading European players in its sector, has reconfirmed Gasparini for the supply of another XP115/4000 press brake, custom-configured for advanced industrial production requirements.

Wittur is an international group specializing in the design and manufacture of components and solutions for elevators, with highly automated production facilities and very high quality standards. The site involved in the project operates in Spain and is focused on the mass production of structural and functional metal components.

The Gasparini solution: X-press 115/4000

The machine supplied is a Gasparini XP115/4000 hydraulic press brake, designed to offer an optimal balance between strength, control, and automation capabilities.

Main features of the machine:

  • Bending force: 115 tons
  • Useful bending length: 4000 mm
  • Open-height: 600 mm
  • Stroke: 400 mm
  • 60 mm self-centering bench to ensure alignment and stability even on long pieces

This configuration allows large components to be processed while maintaining constant precision and repeatability.

Control, precision, and repeatability

To meet Wittur’s quality requirements, the 115/4000 press brake has been equipped with a series of advanced solutions dedicated to controlling the bending process.

CNC and process management:

  • Delem DA-66S CNC, with advanced graphical interface and offline programming support.
  • Delem Profile Lite SL 2D software for simulating and optimizing bending cycles.
  • Interface for third-party offline software for integration into existing digital workflows.

Angle control:

  • GPS4 angle control system, configured for up to 4 sectors
  • Real-time measurement of the bending angle
  • Automatic correction of material variations

This solution allows you to maintain consistent bend quality, even with different batches or variations in material thickness.

Energy efficiency and structural stability

The machine is equipped with the Gasparini ECO+ package and integrates two angle control systems:

  • Gasparini Plus adaptive crowning
  • E-Reflex system

This combination allows you to:

  • reduce energy consumption
  • improve force distribution along the bending line
  • increase precision over the entire working length

The result is more stable, repeatable, and sustainable bending, ideal for continuous industrial production.

Aptitude for automation and robotics

One of the key aspects of the project is its suitability for use with robotic systems.

The XP115/4000 has been configured with:

  • Electrical interface for exclusive robot use
  • Interface for automatic tool change via robot
  • DSP-AP laser safety system with PLC

These solutions allow for perfect integration of the press into automated cells, reducing setup times and increasing overall productivity.

Ergonomics and operability

To improve the operator’s experience and reduce setup times, the machine includes:

  • Upper and lower pneumatic clamping for Wila tools, with micro-adjustment
  • Standard front supports
  • LED lighting of the work area
  • Mobile CNC console for ergonomic machine management

These elements contribute to making the process smoother, safer, and more intuitive.

A tailor-made project for the elevator industry

The Wittur case study demonstrates how a custom-configured press brake can become a strategic element within a complex production line.

It is not just a question of power or size, but of:

  • process control
  • digital integration
  • readiness for automation
  • consistent quality over time

This is the Gasparini approach: designing machines that truly adapt to the customer’s production process, today and tomorrow.
